The BC Assembly of First Nations is pleased hold an Annual General meeting each fall to discuss issues important to First Nations communities across the province. Critical issues discussed include: governance, policy, environmental assessment, proposed or incoming legislation, sustainable economic development and fiscal relations strategy, children and families, fisheries and more.
This year's AGM was held online via Zoom September 14, 15 & 16, 2021.

2021 Elections
Notice of Candidates
Nominations for the upcoming BCAFN elections closed at midnight August 3, 2021. The positions available included four (4) seats for the BCAFN Board of Directors and one (1) seat for Women’s Council Representative. The following candidates submitted valid nomination packages:

Based on the number of applications received, an election will be held for the position of BCAFN Women’s Council Representative. As the number of candidates for the Board of Directors did not exceed the number of available positions, the board candidates are acclaimed.
Note: Under BCAFN’s Bylaws, the status of the remaining vacant position will be taken up by the Board and Regional Chief to consider filling. Further information will be communicated at or after the AGM.
The election will take place as follows:
All Candidates Forum: September 15, 2021, 4:30 – 5:30 PM
Election Day: September 16, 2021
Voting will open at 9:00 AM and close at 12:00 noon
